Andrew married Charlotte (Lottie) Parker Oct. 10, 1883. They had 3 children Hazel, Carroll and William.
Per Nov 7, 1894 Kendall County Record
"Andrew Sanders, but more familiarly known as Slim Sanders, was born in this town [Oswego] thirty-three years ago. He took a liking to railroading when but a boy; was around the depot among the freight crews, would render voluntary help whenever there was an opportunity, and as soon as old enough went into the company's service, and railroading has been since almost his constant employ. Of late he has been the conductor of a freight train on the Great Western, and Thursday, toward evening, when moving his train about within the city limits of Chicago, was murdered. He was found lying on top of a car yet alive and able to tell how it happened, vis: by one man, whom he partially described, who shot and robbed him, but soon became unconscious and died at the hospital to which he had been taken. The remains were removed here from Chicago Saturday and the funeral took place Sunday afternoon from the house of his mother--a church should have been chosen for it, as by far the larger part of the congregation were unable to get into the house nor hear any part of the services. A special train of railroad men came down from Aurora, and they were charge of the funeral...The bereaved left behind are--a wife and two small children, who live in Aurora, a mother and sister who reside here and a brother in Chicago."
