Erected in memory of Alexander Lyle who died 1st January 1871 aged 82 years at his residence Ballymacfin. And his wife Alice Lyle who died June 2nd 1862 aged 72 years. And his son James Lyle who died Feby 17th 1848 aged 25 years. And grandson Samuel Alexander Lyle who died 24th March 1874 aged 11 years. And his son Alexander Lyle who died at his residence, Ardeevin Ballycastle 24th Feby 1904 aged 74 years. Also his wife Hessie H. Lyle who died at Ardeevin, Ballycastle 28th March 1919 aged 79 years.
