Description

A On June 22, 1943 at 1:20 pm collapsed along the Fressevenweg a bomber down in North Brabant Bergeijk. Wellington HZ520 of 429ste Squadron was brought down by German night fighter Hauptmann Werner Baake . The crashed aircraft took part in a raid on German Krefeld. The same night claimed Leutnant Baake of Nachtjagdgeschwader 1./NJG1 a Halifax that crashed near Uden. For 41 devices , he shot out of the air during World War II Werner Baake received the \" Knight\'s \" on July 27, 1944 \n\nThe monument consists of a masonry base and on top of a polished granite stone carved with the following text :\nNear the bomb crater crashed in the night of 21 on June 22, 1943 WELLINGTON HZ520\nTwo crew members died\nF / Sgt H.V. Holmes - RAF\nF / O D. S. Milne - RCAF\nget Caught\nF / Sgt E.A.Eams - RAF\nF / O E.F. Lapham - RAF\nW / O W.H. Wright - RAF\nUnveiled by E. F. Lapham on September 11 1994\n\nTen meters behind the monument is the crater.\n\nThe two crew members were killed in a resting place on the British cemetery in Woensel (Eindhoven) . On the masonry base is located at the front with a copper engraving depicting F / O Lapham .
