Woodbury Cemetery is administered by the Woodbury Cemetery Committee, a group of people elected from the small farming district of Woodbury in inland Canterbury. The cemetery is not attached to any church, and is a very well kept cemetery surrounded by mature trees, mainly 'Oregon'. T. Easton was the first sexton for the cemetery and Mr John Nicholas E. Pearce was the first burial in November 1889. In August 2013 there were 648 graves at the Woodbury Cemetery, plus 4 to the east of the big tree that do not have plot numbers. To get to the Woodbury Cemetery, drive north from Geraldine and take the first left on to Woodbury Road. The cemetery is approximately 6 km up this road on the south side of the Woodbury Domain.
