Description

My mother, Billie Dungan Roberts, age 93, Bristol, Virginia told me that her great-grandmother and my great-great grandmother, Christine Elizabeth Fudge, born Nov 4, 1827, married Rev. Henry A. Maiden in Smyth Co., Virginia (Bond dated Feb 2, 1852) died Feb 13, 1855 and was buried in Wolfe Cemetery, Washington County, Virginia. She said she found this cemetery years back but could not remember where it was. It is a very small cemetery according to her, in back of someone's yard or property, and all of the names cannot be read on the graves. Christine Fudge Maiden's name was one that could not be read. It is interesting that this cemetery is off of Fudge Road and her maiden name was Fudge. Christine Fudge had a younger brother, Granville Henderson Fudge. -Joan Roberts Jackson, Abingdon, Virginia 8/19/13
