Established in 1936, the Woden Cemetery is located in the southern part of Canberra and provides a serene environment for individuals to pay their respects and celebrate the lives of their loved ones. The cemetery is carefully planned with a variety of areas for lawn and monumental burials, accommodating diverse religious and general preferences. The park boasts a range of majestic, mature trees and is adorned with stunningly landscaped features such as Liquidambar Lane and Oak Boulevard.
It closed for burials in 1979, but was re-opened in March 1999.
The Woden Cemetery is not only a popular destination for families and friends to reflect, but it also serves as a cherished green space for the broader community to explore and appreciate its tranquil grounds.
