The ruined church in the cemetery is the site of a clan massacre between the Macleods and MacDonalds.A group of Macleods were at prayer inside Trumpan Church when they were trapped inside by a party of MacDonalds and the Church was set on fire. All inside were killed except one small child who managed to climb out a slit window unfortunately succumbing from her injuriesThe ruins of the church are still there today and is still consecrated ground.
