The churchyard is around three sides of the church. There are relatively few memorials (about 40) with, more recently, three dozen cremation plaques along the western wall. The Bath Chronicle of 23 Jan 1862 p8 reported that there had once been a feud between the rector and his parishioners and that the rector has cleared away most of the stones and buried them. It should be noted that Freshford has a separate cemetery (about 500m to the west) administered by a (secular) parish council.
