Description

Also known as Spanaway Catholic Cemetery, Spanaway German Lutheran Cemetery, Spanaway Lutheran Cemetery, Spanaway Cemetery. Cemetery notes and/or description:\nThe West side of the cemetery is known as Spanaway Lutheran Cemetery (Shultz Acre), the East side as Spanaway Catholic Cemetery.\n\nThe Spanaway Cemetery land was donated by Christopher Bittner (Boettner) and Lena Jennings in 1900. Ernest Boettners buried a little daughter Oct. 3, 1891 and Chris Binner buried a son April 28, 1892. After the land donation was offically considered a cemetery Tobe Wyatt was the first one to be buried. There are now 2 sides of the cemetery Lutheran & Catholic, but remain as one. Volunteers, Kiawanis & Cub Scouts take care of the grounds.
