Cemetery Description

On Sunday, October 6, 1867, the church was dedicated & the parish officially founded as the Church of St. Teresa, at Perrysville.
In March of 1872, a meeting was called of the Church Committee to plan a permanent rectory. A piece of property & an existing house on the East side of the road were purchased for $1,400.
With a church & a rectory, the need for a parish Cemetery was apparent. In March of 1875, the ground was purchased for a cemetery. The piece of land contained 83 rods & was purchased for $200. The first burial in the new cemetery took place even before the purchase was officially completed. The young 7-year-old Margaret Milbert was first to be buried there on February 2, 1875.
