Description

This cemetery is located in the heart of the cajun heart of acadia parish, in Richard,la. Small community that is well known for their the little Cajun Saint Charlene Marie Richard (Jan. 13, 1947-Aug. 11, 1959) She was brave little girl who was battling acute lymphatic leukemia. She was said to be in constant pain and always ill but after having been sent to Lady of Lourdes hospital, she was said to want to be in constant pain if that meant that the suffering from others would stop. As she would be laying there dying, she'd continue to pray for the all pain to stop ailing others that were around. Never once batting an eye or muttering words of dismay. Though she was 12 years old, Charlene was a solid rock when it came to her faith. She'd had been raised as a devout Roman Catholic. It'd be here strong will of wanting to suffer for those poor people around. As she would be in pain, she'd be as cheeky as she'd been before she'd fallen ill suddenly. Charlene hated it when she was as all the pain and suffering around her hurt her more than the pain from her cancer. But with more and more suffering seemed to have came filing into Lady of Lourdes hospital. It was though an extreme sight for sore eyes for her as this meant more of this the following. But this extraorignally brave little girl, countinued to offer up the suffering from those around her hurting, as well as taking some of their pain. But as this would begin, the hospital appointed her a newly ordained catholic priest, Joseph Brennan. He'd watch her work her miracles as he'd also pray for those suffering too, but a miracle would be mentioned as those shed have prayed over and offered up their pain, these people would be suddenly miracously cured of whatever ailment. So before being transferred to American Legion hospital, brave Charlene Richard would take more suffering away from people. They too walking away healed. After her transfere, Charlene never stopped working her miracles over those suffering in the hospital, as well as her cheeky personality was always on constant display. It was a sight to behold to see such a young girl, being as brave as she was offering to pray over masses of people at a time, with not a single complaint of her own pain ever being said out loud. She would be asked if she'd be suffering by many whom were healed by her, as well the catholic priest. Prayers would be offered her way as now at this time, it was evident that she'd be close to dying and little charlene was aware of this. She refused the prayers offered to her but instead shed want them to go to those who were suffering. As the saying goes that she'd tell the catholic priest who was just absolutely amazed by her never losing or forgetting her faith or even mumbling words of any kind pain. But she rather wanted to offer up these people's suffering as she had come to understand her role and that she wanted to take all the suffering away from these people as she wanted to save them. The days were being spent contining to just take the suffering from others, as she had morbidly knew that her days were more numbered as the pain was now traveling around her tiny, frail body. Movements that were fluid were now like that of an older person. But Charlene had viewed the pain as a way for to be able to work more of her miracles as it was also getting harder and harder to breath and sit up some days. But she'd grit her teeth and continue to force herself to get up and around and take their suffering away. This would continue to go on til, the lord called her home to be with him. As she'd suffered greatly enough. He'd recognized her own sacrifice to disregard her own pain, and to have healed many people during her painful stay at the hospital, but her brave attitude with her own pain disregard, she'd be forever remembered fondly by those who had gotten the chance to see the little girl whom was working miracles in front of everyone. Her wanting those whom wanted to pray for her, use those prayers to lift up someone else. She half that attitude of just an angel. An angel indeed who had just seemed to know this would be her calling in life as before the cancer, she'd be just as rock solid with her praying and uplifting of others that the lord had noticed this. This brave little fighter was one of 3 that were to be considered for sainthood. But even if the little cajun saint isnt chosen for her sainthood just yet, she's still said to be working miracles for those who stop by and pray to her for her help. There's been several stories over the years about the power this little saint had after she had been buried. The most recent one being through her power and the wisdom shed possess as well with the help from the lord, his son she helped some woman from new york with whatever issue she had.
