This small Catholic Cemetery is attached to St Mary's at Pukekaraka,4 Convent Road, Otaki, Horowhenua, Wellington.An existing historic church built by Ngati Kapu in 1859 which has been given an extension by architects Design Group: Stapleton Elliot.St Mary's Church, Otaki, is New Zealand's oldest Catholic church still in use. It is on the site of what was once a Catholic Mission. A large Maori settlement (kainga) grew up around the mission.The Parish name Pukekaraka means hill of Karaka trees. The presbytery, (1897) has, like the church, been recognised by the Historic Places Trust.
