Description

On 26 Sep 1831, Richard G. and Eve (Conn) Paris were issued a land patent for 161.88 acres in Clinton County, Indiana. They obtained the land where Paris Cemetery rest from the United States government signed on 5 Apr 1833. Richard G. Paris died on 31 Mar 1845 and his wife, Eve (Conn) Paris, died on 01 Mar 1854. Their son, Thomas, and wife, Barbara Ann (Young) Paris, donated the property to the Clinton County Commission on 17 Oct 1855, preserving the property as a public burial ground before their return to Iowa.
