Also known as Rigney Catholic Cemetery; aka Pioneer Catholic Cemetery. Old Pioneer Cemetery (originally known as Rigney Cemetery) is one of the oldest cemeteries in Pierce county. It is a 4 acre burial donated by husband and wife, John Rigney and Elizabeth Lowry (both born in Ireland). Pioneer has been in use since 1850, but may have unmarked burials prior to this date. The cemetery was deeded to Calvary Cemetery approximately 30 years ago.
