The church of St Vincent dates from the 13th century chancel, although the north wall of the nave may be early 12th century. The rest, including the tower, is 14th century. There is a stair turret which was added in the 15th century. In 1963 traces of medieval paintings were discovered on the north wall of the nave. The earliest recorded rector of newnham was Peter de Abindon in 1274.
