The cemetery is on several acres of land across from the New Hope AME Church. It is very old dating to 1869 or earlier. It is maintained to a point [no brush etc] but the grave markers are difficult to read primarily to there being handmade. Several graves are caved in and in disrepair. The grave site is on a steep slope and borders houses on three sides and Arden Road on the fourth. A guess would be there are 100 to 125 graves, some of which are unmarked. The site is in a choice area of Atlanta [Buckhead]. To me it would be a great Eagle Scout project to clean it up to a pristine level.
