Cemetery Description

Large cemetery located North of Kirby aka Florida Avenue and South of Pennsylvania Avenue. Separate and to the East of Roselawn Cemetery (originally called New Mount Hope). Western bountry is invisible line even with fence facing entry doors to mausoleum.
Mount Hope is the oldest operating cemetery in the Champaign-Urbana area, having been established in 1856. Roselawn or Rose Lawn, was originally named New Mount Hope Cemetery and was established in 1906. The Mausoleum was added at the Northern end of Mount Hope Cemetery in the mid 1960’s and contains a peaceful chapel which is available for memorial services of both cemeteries.
