This cemetery had been locked the first two times we went by it. The third time it was unlocked AND had a new name posted and is now apparently the McCOY REESE CEMETERY. In the attached picture you can see the old "McCall Cemetery" sign hanging asqew in the background. The woman who lived next door to the cemetery came out and talked to us. She said that the cemetery was an African American cemetery and that the caretakers were trying to get this cemetery added to the Texas Historical cemeteries. We took a picture of each headstone in it on 29 March 2009. It is very small with less than 20 headstones. The neighbor said that not all of the graves were marked. Also, this cemetery in some links online are getting the Hufsmith Cemetery and this cemetery mixed up. Although this cemetery is on Hufsmith Cemetery Road it is no longer called Hufsmith Cemetery (if it ever was called that.) The real Hufsmith Cemetery is not far away on Bogs Road.
