Indian Mound Cemetery

To reach this cemetery: go south of Springfield on Hwy 50, turn west on Buffalo Rd. South on 168th St. East on Cornish Rd. Park by the gate to the service road leading up the hill to the cell tower. Walk in about 1/2 mile, toward the grove of trees.

This is an old, untended cemetery with tall grass and lots of dead fallen trees. There is a fence around a portion of the graves; however, there are probably as many graves outside the fence as there are inside. Many stones are broken and lying on the ground, and there are certainly some that cannot be found. We photographed all the ones we could locate on 9 Oct 2020. Lynn and Doreen McGowan
