Description

This cemetery is on private land.This is the tomb of John Millender (J.M.) Hornbuckle, Aug. 6, 1838 -Feb. 7, 1903. Served in the Civil War. The cemetery is located in the extreme north west part of Marshall County (SE Quarter of Section 20, Township 6 S Range 1 east) near the Morgan County line and is very difficult to reach. The cemetery contains a total of 44 graves,most marked with rocks without names or any inscriptions. The most recent grave is dated June 1913. This was recorded by Les Hornbuckle on December 9, 1998. (Note: May also be known as Owens Cemetery.)
