Description

HAWKINGE CREMATORIUM Aerodrome Road Folkestone Kent CT18 7AG Telephone: 01303 892215. Crematorium information - Hawkinge Crematorium opened in 1956 on the site of an existing cemetery. The cemetery at Hawkinge Crematorium is still used for burial services today. The crematorium is situated on the site of an old airfield used by Spitfire and Hurricane pilots during the Battle of Britain, and two of the gardens of remembrance are named after these planes. The 100 year old fir trees within the Cemetery including the beautiful central avenue (pictured) are due to be replaced at the time of writing.
