Great Mongeham is a small village in East Kent on the outskirts of Deal. The name was derived from Mundelingham or village of Mundel. The beautiful church within the village dates back to the 13th Century with parts being restored in the 19th Century by William Butterfield. Although many monuments remain, some headstones within the Churchyard have been cleared and now lay against the perimeter wall.
