Description

Established in 1924 as the first endowment-care memorial park in the Southwest. Located on 120 acres of land in Bonita, just East of Chula Vista and South of San Diego. All headstones are flat and flush to the ground. There are no upright tombstones. There are three mausoleums, several columbariums and a nature garden for scattering of ashes. Upon opening in 1924, Glen Abbey accepted persons buried in Evergreen Cemetery in La Mesa for re- internment, and later accepted persons buried in Otay area for re-internment. Today over 55,000 are buried or inurned in Glen Abbey.
