Description

Oct. 11, 2020 - Cemetery is well set up, neat & even rows. Driveways split up the cemetery into several distinct sections, with the centre section split by a row of trees. This property has about 3,000 graves (as of October 2020), with room for about 1,200 more. Most markers are upright, or raised from the ground. NOTE: 5-10% of the markers have one family stone, with the main couple and/or family members, on markers flat on the ground, which are sinking over time - some are now several inches below grade. Some have grass & dirt overgrowing their edges, so be prepared to get your knees and hands dirty cleaning these first so you can see the name/date. These are randomly located throughout the property - it's not like "one section has the flat ground markers." They're all over. Someone had previously started the S/W section, but only got a few rows done. It appears their remaining photos were uploaded as Supporting Records, so do not show as GPS pins. I photographed the whole south-most strip (Oct 11, 2020), duplicating those original photos to ensure completeness of that section. I plan to return to complete the entire cemetery, but it could be spring/2021. Fallen leaves are covering most of the ground markers, so they need to be cleaned off for photos. I had to dig up a fair bit of grass & dirt to clear up several of the flat ground markers. THESE GROUND MARKERS WILL NOT BE SEEN IN WINTER, WITH SNOW ON THE GROUND - THIS IS NOT A GOOD PROPERTY FOR WINTER PHOTOGRAPHING, AS YOU WILL BE SURE TO MISS SOME IF YOU'RE NOT VERY CAREFUL. -DavidR.Billiongraves.com
