Small family cemetery on private land on what was, until the 1980s, land belonging in the Colvin family held by Birket Lewis Colvin (1792-1873.), son of Henry Colvin. Henry, in 1779, was a substitute Revolutionary soldier for his brother, John Colvin (1758-1832). Both were originally from Culpeper County, Virginia. Henry's home (updated and renovated,) still stands, just East of this location on Colvin Bend Rd. It is listed on the National Registry of Historic Places. Until recently discovered, the location of Henry's burial site was unknown to his modern day descendants. Henry Colvin is the progenitor of the Kentucky line of Colvins from Virginia's Piedmont region, where numerous Colvins of the same bloodline still live.
