Center Star Cemetery is known as a Black Cemetery. It is located on the Wheeler Wildlife Refuge. It is very large and grow up with vines and small trees with most graves unmarked. It overlooks what is known as Arrowhead Landing or Limestone Bay. It was listed in the old Vol. III cemetery book as New Hope Cemetery. Some of this information was taken from TVA site removal records provided to us by Mr James L Douthat of Mountain Press. A 1915 TVA survey map estimated this cemetery contained about 1500 graves. copied by Linda and Wayne Smith March 11, 1989.
