This cemetery, as locals tell it, is one of the sites of a civil war battle. Many soldiers were killed here and were buried essentially where they fell. It was not clear whether they were union or confederate. Volunteers have been clearing the cemetery as it became very overgrown. At this time, it is still easy to see gravestones back in the areas that have not been cleared. RLTurner53 10/17/2012
