Also known as Assumption Catholic Cemetery. 2 Miles North, 4.5 Miles East of David City,\nSection 12, Franklin Twp. This Church/Cemetery was originally erected in 1877 on the land of Peter Maly. On Easter Monday of that year, the first Mass was celebrated. In 1890, a severe windstorm destroyed the church, and the parishioners decided to build this church in Franklin Township.The bodies were exhumed from the old cemetery and reburied at this new location. I\'m sure that some may have remained at the other location. I will add that location on Billion Graves as well. A few founders of the parish were: Joseph Dostal, Frank Zima, Frank Sobolik, Martin Riha, Frank Kozisek, Frank Bogr, Antonin Virgl, Ignac Kovar, Vojt Hines, Vogt Dvorak, Frank Stejskal, Frank Sabata, Vinc Roulenc, Simon Walla, Anton May, Simon Maly, Anton Kopecek, Frank Kovar, Anton Bunner, Peter Maly, and others. These were some of the first settlers to the Appleton area.
