The cemetery is located north of Enumclaw, off highway 169. West on 416th Ave SE, on the corner of 416th and 236th, watch for the "cemetery entrance" sign. Prior to the 1890's, an individual donated land adjacent to the Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery for the development of a public cemetery. This land was located on the SE corner of current SE 416th St. and 236th Ave. SE. This was called Enumclaw Cemetery, and was managed by the Enumclaw Cemetery Association. In the 1940's, the Enumclaw Cemetery Association turned the Enumclaw Cemetery over to the City of Enumclaw. Somewhere in this time period the cemetery was renamed Evergreen Memorial Park. In 1972, the Catholic Church gave the City of Enumclaw the Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery adjacent to the city's cemetery. This brought Evergreen Memorial Park to its current configuration of 26 acres. Currently there are approximately 20 acres of the cemetery plotted (portions that are available for use). 1 acre is being used for administrative buildings and equipment storage. There is approximately 1 mile of road providing access to the interior portions of the cemetery. This leaves approximately 5 acres available for future plotting and use. This cemetery is no longer operated by the City of Enumclaw. It is now operated by Weeks' Funeral Homes in Buckley/Enumclaw, WA. The consolidated Enumclaw Evergreen Memorial Park includes sections that were originally the new (then unnamed) Enumclaw Cemetery and the Catholic Holy Cross Cemetery.
